Understanding variables in Coding and algebra Grade 5

Using micro:bit, a tiny sized programable mini computer, a students in grade 5 programmed a single operation calculator. For a more complex extension, students were asked to program all 4 mathematical operations ( + - x / )
Algebra
In math, students learned sequential/recursive rule as well as the function rule. Here is an example of how a function rule applies to a visual pattern. For this particular lesson students used Polypad to demonstrate their understanding of input and output functions.
